G300 LWB on eBay
Does anyone know anything about the 1988 G300 on eBay? Having only had petrol models up to now, are the old diesels as slow as people make out? Can you fit a turbo if they are? Is that a stupidly expensive option and I'm better off sticking with petrol?
Confused of Hampshire.
If you can find room for the gas tanks a petrol / gas conversion probably makes more sense than turboing an old diesel.
And yes the N/A diesels are SLOW, esp in light of the way diesel engines heve advanced in recent years

Of course if one runs on rebated diesel ie "red", one might put up with the lack of performance !!
Good call except, don't Customs and Excise have a few issues with that? Ok if you live on a farm I guess.
If you know of a petrol LWB 460 in halfway decent nick for £4-5K I'd be interested. I've gota gem of a SWB I'd swap or would need to sell. Could to with the extra boot space. Can't justify more than one G at a time at the moment
Tsk. tsk blaming the poor farmers again, at present they should even be running their tractors on white when on the road UNLESS soley engaged in agricultural AND not more than 3 ( I think ) miles from the registered home address.

Thanks for the info. That pretty much confirms what I thought. Strangely, it's been converted from petrol to a diesel. I may leave well alone.
