autochanger
I have just got the 2006 hardback brochure for the New G there is a pic of the rear inside with an autochanger slotted into the rear wheelarch Is this a viable place on the 460s too or could it get twanged(technical term) by the wheel bouncing upward obviously it would have to go in a casing of some sort from the elements but I thought a good place out of the way 8)
ive been looking at this for a while for a second battery in a 460 myself.
as long as you put in a panel which is no lower than the plastic rear arch liner then no worries!!!!!!
load area extra seats arent even a problem coz they bolt to the side above the wheelarch.
if you want ill dig out the arch liner part number, i think its about 80ish euros.
HI
I have not been on for a while i have started a new job back with mercedes at a local dealer and moved house so have been tied up to say the least . it seems all the new models A class upwards are been fitted like this including the dvd players for sat navs and non have come to my attention with any damage i presume we are talking bieng fitted internally????
Do you want a pic of what it looks like. You can't see under the arch though as there is a plastic liner.
I have just had a look. It is located next to the door and is therefore not over the rear wheel, rather behind it. May be different in a SWB.
its the same swb/lwb.on both vehicles if you take a line through the middle of the rear wheel they are identical, unlike 90/110s .

Il have to scan a pic but yes the back door was open showing the rear arches, the left one had the front face of an autochanger in it A place I never thought for the obvious reasons but not thinking that the wheels would nt travel that far up anyway to hit whatever enclosed it
