I've read through the forums in the hope for an answer to my problem but not realy finding one.
I've got 10000 miles from new on my G & its becoming slow to respond to being engaged in Drive or Reverse after sitting for as little as ten minutes.
Once it get going it's fine but it's happening more & more after a rest. There are two set of arrows on the dip stick on the F degrees side 30 degrees & 90 degrees & two on the other side also. Which are right?
Its now reading between the 30 marks with the engine running & box in N It was low but filling it up didn't seem to do any good.
it used to just respond straight away but now i've to wait till it seems to engage! To drain & do a filter change do i need to take off the btm cover of the gearbox? Thanks Padr

Yes you need to take off the pan from the bottom of the gearbox. Cleanliness is vital when carrying out this job.
See my reply to ELVIS below for more info. I’ve also had success with seal conditioning additive in the past. Wyn’s / STP do it. It softens the seals which helps to improve hydraulic pressure. May just be putting off the inevitable though!

Where is the dipstick on an auto box? I have a 500 auto but it should be the same.
