CHANGING AXLE / BOX OIL
want to give my 81 oil burner/auto a service next weekand want to change axle/box oil aswell for piece of mind. where can io get a manual to give me oil specs/pointers etc etc ?
Auto box= Dexron II or I'm told Morrisons D2 is best.
From memory the auto box filter was around £15 from MB stealer.
Don't forget to drain the torque convertor as well.
You get at the drain plug for this (7mm allen key i think) through the bell housing, it contains maybe an extra litre. You don't however need to refill it separately.
