Hello folks,
Help !!...Can anyone recommend an Insurance company that will allow me to insure my 1999 LHD G300TD now and also when it's modified ? Please don't say Adrian Flux, as they won't touch a modified G !! There's plenty of modified G's out there, so some of you must have an understanding Insurance company ?

Re: Insurance

Try Roadsure, they gave me a very good quote, around half the price of Adrian Flux. And according to their adds in TOR, "modifications are acceptable". Only thing with RoadSure was that they wanted me to fit a tracker.

In the end i went with Egg, a bit cheaper, but i don't know if they'll insure a modified.

Roadsure 0845 408 0016

Egg 0870 024 0097

Oh yeah, if you go off roading, don't put it in "park". You may end up on a recovery truck :o

Re: Insurance

linkage broke between foot brake and gearbox thus not allowing you to select drive.

Re: Insurance

Is that a common problem Peter, or can the offending item(s) be beefed up for off road use ?

Re: Insurance

No idea how common a problem it is. Would be interesting to find out. The fitter told me today that the cable / linkage had certainly been snaged on something, time for bigger tyres

Re: Insurance

Well, if we can't beef the linkage up, then maybe some sort of shield is needed instead.
I'm planning on a 40mm suspension & a 40mm body lift (ORC) thus allowing me to fit 285x75x16 tyres, then a winch & bumper on the front, a snorkel and then to protect as much as I can underneath, with the relevant guards. That should do initially.
