Can anyone help, I'm after a dog guard for my short wheel base 460.

Does anyone have one or does anyone know an aftermarket one that will fit, i regularly carry a couple of big gun dogs they'll happily sit in the back all day but i could do with something that will hold them in in the event of a crash.

I also regularly carry tool boxes and equipment on the motorway which again need to be held in.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Dog Guard

I have made a dog guard out of two of the standard tube type dog guard sold by Halfords. They cost 20 pounds each so total cost was just 40 pounds.

They fit much better to the 463 than the 460/461 due to the back of the rear bench in the former having more inclination than the latter. The longitudinal tubes of the Halfords dog guard are bent at exactly the same angle as the one the back of the seat makes with a vertical line. The fit is very good only when secured with plastic straps to the rear headrests.

In any event, the guard is the "tube" type meaning that you cannot prevent your mates joking of you having a TV aerial in the boot of your G. In this respect, I fancy the wire mesh type, as offered on Ebay. I haven't seen how well it fits but I suspect that, being of similar construction to the type I have, it will need the plastic strapping as well.

Cheers

Re: Dog Guard

You can get one from ORC and also MB in Germany I think. It hangs from the rails just below the head lining and attaches to the back of the seat. I have the one in the pic and the legs to get in the way because of the angle of the seat back.
