Right then who fancies a trip to my place in France on the 19th and 20th August.
I live in the beautiful area of the Limousin it is 4x4 country too.
I have a very large rear garden to fill with Gs and a large from gravel area to the front.
There is a big field backing on to the garden but we rent it to the local farmer but it may also be available to put cars on or camp on.
We have a local campsite run by a Harley fanatic if you fancy camping and also B&Bs local to us run by brits and french possibly in the region of 40Euros for the night.
The idea is to have a meet up for the saturday and we will put on a BBQ as long as weather is good this area usually has excellent summers If not we will organise food in the barn or elsewhere under cover.
Sunday will be off road day I will work on a trek with local 4x4 clubs. We will provide drinks and sandwiches for the outing
I am going to contact Alain also from the french G club as well as others for their support.
All I ask is for you to email or pm me with your intention and i will find you B&B or whatever you require.
Just basics we live near Eymoutiers in the Haute Vienne area of the Limousin about 400 miles from Calais it is amonst the lakes and mountains and only 30 klm from lake Vassiviere the biggest in France.
Go on it will be a great weekend

Every sunday we see boats by the dozen go past It is GREAT. It would have been used for the yacht races if 2012 olympics had happened here.
First come first served could stay in our petit maison it is self contained but has room for only a couple with 1 or2 kids for free of course

Re: French trip

Just as an update I have been in contact with Alain from MBFrance and he seems to think it a grande idea.
I am going to be doing a few awards too for furthest travelling G as well as best looking G and anything else I can think of. Something for the Ladies and children too. Plenty of good french wine and plenty to eat.
I have spoken to a guy living here who is in to LRs and another who is one of the best 4x4 ers in the UK now living in France so I am sure a bit of a competition can be arranged too on the sundat day out

Re: French trip

I must say I havent had much interest from the Brit camp.
IS ANYONE GOING TO MAKE IT.
I have had confirmation that I have the use of 3 empty (of people) houses and a couple of caravans and camping spaces ALL FOR FREE!! so no one will have to pay for accomodation should they need it.
I have asked the local MB dealer "Patrick Launay" to come along with a couple of vehicles to show us too 8)
Proper details to follow

Re: French trip

Aye Nickolas,
Its a wonderful offer you have made, but its also a bloody long way for anyone living north of the Watford Gap.
So unless
( i ) I get divorced
( ii ) and also lose my Job
I'ts unlikely I'll make it
Thank you anyway, mabey another year
Marcus

Re: French trip

I’m with Marcus on this one.
Sorry Nickolas I’m pretty jealous of what you have available but as always it’s a case of priorities. I just hope you’re not discouraged by the lack of response.
July / August is always a tricky time for anyone with children and or being a wage slave!! E.G. Me :(

Re: French trip

No not dispondant at all I have tried to make it an easier day by doing it free and with accomodation and I have a few confirmations with Gs and an assortment of lesser 8) 4X4 from the area so will be a good day. It would be nice to see a few from the UK too but I know the limitations. :)

Re: French trip

still trying to convinvce the wife and son 400 miles driving in France is not like driving 400 miles in uk, dragging a boat!!. I love France, she loves 2 hrs drive maximum, or its flying for her. I could stick her on a plane I suppose. Whats the nearest airport.
