Dear Sirs,

I plan to buy a used Mercedes G class in Germany, Italy or Austria and bring it to Slovenia – my home country.

In order to satisfy the local regulations a car must comply with the EURO 2 emission standard. The compliance must be clearly stated in official documents of the car.

I am kindly asking you to help me with this problem.
Do you have the information which G models and which year makes of the models comply with the requested standard?

Where and in which car`s document is it clearly stated?
How does such a statement look like? (probably in German)
If older models of the cars have been modified to satisfy the EURO2 standard they must have this modification documented somehow in the cars documents. Where and how?

You can imagine what a disaster it would present to me to buy a car somewhere in Europe, bring it home only to find out that I can not register it in my country. It could mean disaster.

So please understand my situation and kindly help me or direct me to somebody you think could help me.

Thank you very much for your kindness.

Re: EURO2 standard

Euro2 started Jan 1996. Mercedes usually have their models compliant long before the date the regulations start, don't know exactly when G's became Euro 2. Sorry not much help really.
