Daewoo Musso 2.9TD Auto
My dad has got a Musso and is desprate for more power, just wondered as you boys seem to know lots about the 2.9 td wheather you can give any advise.

Did you mean a Ssangyong Musso 2.9 TD ?
If you do its not a too unrelevant question.
The Ssangyong uses a Mercedes engine under license.
OM601 and OM602 are produced by MB and the OM661 and OM662 in licence by SsangYong.
Technicly there is no difference.

thewez, I'm sorry if the actions have of a few have made you feel unwelcome. I'd like to be able to offer you some useful advice but there are not that many G290DTs about.
You could try sending a PM to Howard Green as an off chance? He will certainly give you a straight answer.

There may not be many 290GTD but there are thousands of sprinters, which you can chip or better re-map ECU. Same engine! Go to www.iwanttorechipmymusso.com they might help :roll:

I just wonder why you have deleted the post I objected too but have left my comments as is with no reference to what was said before.
Makes me really sad, I just come he for some advice, get slag off for the vehicle that my dad bought, when complain about the replys they quickly get deleted so just my comments are left totally out of context.

It was not deleted, our server was hacked and some things were lost. No one has slagged off the vehicle your dad purchased, I even owned a Musso but the 3.2 V6. You asked a question and it was answered in a polite manner to the best of our abilities. There are, at a guess only 10 290GTD in the Uk, at a guess 3 are members. We may be a club and have a forum but dont profess to have total knowledge on every thing. Do a google search for mercedes diesel chips or re-mapping and that will give you a better idea what you can get.
If all else fails sell the Musso, because there bloody dangerous at speed!!!!!!. And buy something that won't devalue faster than a Lada, speaking from experience. The only good thing about the Musso was the engine, and thats a Merc.Thats something I profess too know.
