Does anyone know if you can stil buy the original MB fabric for older G,s.

The smaller cheque pattern, as I want to install some after market Recaro,s and have them half leather and the rest fabric to ty in with the rest of the interior.

Something like this.

Re: MB fabric

This pattern was used last with the W201 190 E 2.5 16v and the W124 "Sportline" E-Class saloons, coupes and Estates in the early to mid nineties (as late as 1995) so it is quite possible that you can still find it.

A good way to track this down is to get hold of the VIN of one such car and investigate with an EPC -I do not advise to try you local dealer, they are such snobs that they would not like you asking them questions like these...

The pattern was abandoned as far as the GWagen is concerned in 1985 when it was changed to a bigger chequered pattern.

Let us know what you find.

on the subject, does anyone know if/where you can get the original cloth for the non-leather 463's? (1991-94)

Re: MB fabric

I thought you could actually order the entire seat coverings ready to fit direct from MB with the appropriate VIN.

oh yeah now that you mention it, i remember seeing a seat cover option as well in an early 463's accessories catalogue. might be a good investment to keep the seats from wearing out prematurely (before 30yrs)

No I'm talking about actual replacements for worn out seats - not covers.

I understand that, must pay a visit to the local dealer to see if they will entertain my queries or turn me away. (That just reminded me of the covers!)
