I have now got my imported 300td registered and on the road but with an unwanted wheel wobble.I have balanced the tyres, swapped rims front to rear, put brand new tyres on another set of rims, both genuine.I still have a real vibration through the steering at 60mph.Its got brand new discs passed its mot with flying colours so no steering parts appear worn. What the hell is it? :(

Re: wobble???

Bruce, you may want to check/replace your steering damper. These can be a common cause of the dreaded wheel wobble. Search other threads on the topic and I think you will find plenty of info.

Re: wobble???

Just replaced my damper. £55 from euro car parts for genuine MB.

Old one looked pretty new and when I took it off felt exactly the same as the new one, thought wasted £55. But transfomered the G. Just like new, well nearly :(
