Re: clock not keeping correct time

I got a funny problem too on my 300GD the clock works fine until you turn on the head lights then it looses 30mins an hr
I have pulled it out cleaned it looked at it looked at it again, blown it abit put it back...no difference. I will get another one I think it just the electronics.
I prefer wind up tickers like my Omegas I can see them working :D

Re: clock not keeping correct time

Nicholas,
I admit I have not even bothered to pull out and clean up as I reckon that is not the problem, I have not come across this before, I took it for granted that 12V clocks were always pretty accurate and either working or not.
Ah well.

Re: clock not keeping correct time

I am sure you re right the electronics are not complicated but if they go wrong theres not alot you can do. There is a little coil thingy 8) in mine that regulates the time this is probably faulty. I am doing a revamp to my interior soon and think I may put something good in it like a Jaeger or something so I am not fussed.

Marcus,
I believe that the clocks fitted to diesel Gs regularly run slowly to enhance the 0- 60 times :D

The devious barstewarts Roly, isnt it a good job I relay on my Tag Hoore for timing critical runs.
