Importing from the States
Sorry to go over this again, I know it was spoken about before, but I can't find it!!...
Has anyone tried to bring a vehicle back from America?
The miles per hour clocks, the price, the extras that seem to be fitted as standard..etc etc
Presumably the exchequer gets a cut, but is it so much as to make it a pointless exercise?
Have drooled over loads for sale, especially from California....... stacks for shipping too.
Any thoughts or pitfalls?

10% import duty on pickups, 5% on suvs the last time I looked, then the dreaded VAT. Its sent over on a roll-on-roll-off. Not sure the american import guys will be that helpfull as you are doing them out of a cut, Go do google search for freight companies or ro-ro freight and they will give you all you need to now.
try to buy one from the east coast as shipping from west coast to east of usa can be expensive.
if you get an invoice for the car prior to bringin it back here, make sure its 4 less than wot you actually paid .they also charge you on the shipping.
I shipped in a jeep wrangler in 97 and only paid £1500 in tax.
As 4 shipping try east coast or Houston,Texas. All ships go to south coast or Liverpool.
Be very careful with that one, they aren't stupid when it comes to knowing what its worth.
