Imminent import. headlights & speedo
Happy new year all! I am just about to bring back a SWB 300GTD from Stuttgart,can anyone let me know the Hella part number for RHD headlights,also I read an earlier posting regarding speedo conversion,is there an alternative to a complete pod at heavy mercedes prices?

Depends on what you want, on mine i have a clear "sticker" type thing (same material as a tax disc holder) that i lay over my speedo, hass passed all MOTs no probs read the below link it may help

The MOT guys aren't concerned what the speedo shows, and some will accept tape over part of the headlights.
However, none of that helps when registering the vehicle, the CoC will show you only have a speedo with km/h and lights for right hand traffic. You then have to make the modifications, show receipts or statement from a garage / mechanic, then submit along with the original CoC to the vehicle certification agency, who will then, if satisfied, issue a Minister's Approved Certificate for £65.
when i moved to france i changed my lamps for driving on the right. I got my head lamps from MB asford payed £90 pr PARTCO wanted £70 each.. :roll:

Thanks for that,the link for the sticker supplier didnt work for some reason have you got the details.The G I am bringing in is a 97 463 so if anyone knows the hella part nos. it will avoid a jobsworth storeman telling me they cant be returned even if they are wrong!! :D
