LPG Pro's Cons
Hi can anyone help me by giving the downsides of an LPG conversion on a 230/280. Obviously the Pro is cheaper fuel but what are the downsides? Does it affect the G in any way and is the process prone to faliures/breakdowns in any way.
Cheers :D
Check out the alternative fuels forum, I have posted my experience there, still very happy with my conversion.
I have a 280 GE and have had no gliches or niggles. Only thing to bear in mind is that gas is not as efficent as petrol but you still can make considerable savings apart from it being a cleaner fuel, less crap on the spark plugs etc and the atmosphere I suppose. Only glich I did have was when I went to Francehere gas is widely available but you need a spcial adaptor which I didn't have. Cost £1050 from a place in Poplar E.London, more expensive if you have a modern engine with gizmos. Let me know if you want more details..

I had a 230 on gas for 5 years, never let me down, moved it over to my 280, slight problems but that was down to faulty HT leads. Worth having if you use your g a lot. not worth the expense if its a weekend toy.

Thanks Rob, how much did your conversion cost if you don't mind me asking and hows it been since fitting, any problems/niggles/glitches? Also which engine have you got?
Cheers
PS Bet it must be nice to have an "economical" g wagon (Well you know what i mean!!!)
