Engine Change????

Hi
I am looking to buy a 300D and wondering which engine I can use from which donor vehicle is the best option??
The 300D lump is knackered so I want to put in a Turbo unit with minimum hassle. Fitting intercoolers or things like that are ok but to put in a ECU etc could be a bit beyond me!

Well the "easiest" option is the 123 series 300 turbo diesel which was not imported to the UK. So you will be looking to Europe as your donor area.
Bill might be able to source you one as he has contacts in Holland. Don't expect it to be a direct swap as there is considerable work to get it setup correctly. It will give you a godd g though.

Could be wrong...probably am, but I have a feeling that it won't go in a right hand drive G. If I remember correctly, it's something to do with the clash of component locations, presumably the steering gear and possibly the turbo. Sorry to be so vague, and I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but it would be worth checking out this aspect of that engine in a G. Ultimately, of course, virtually anything is possible, however, I too suspect Bill is the man to consult.
