I have to make an apology in advance of the fact i am returning to the UK on monday firstly to drive to Doncaster then back to sidcup and Dover on Tuesday to pick up an old breaker G wagen to ship back to France The apology is in fact for the reason that I will be in a L*&d R$£er with a 4m Trailer and a safari rack on top belonging to a good friend of mine here in France who will rub it in that he has a G wagen on the back Pictures may follow....I did tell him to take a few spares ust to be on the safe side

Re: Sorry in advance

If you cover the G wagen with a tarpaulin it will save considerable embarassment to all parties :(

Re: Sorry in advance

Well the 500miles has been completed in the LR with the G on the back EVERYONE looked at us mad englishmen with rust bucket argentinian/falklands G on the trailer Although i DO thank my good friend for the ride to the UK I did drive most of the way myself and found the LR to be uncomforable I being an ex pro rugbyplayer and happen to be quite wide and not only did I hav to sit at a funny angleto the steering wheel but there was no room for my right arm apart from when the window was open.
I have definately decided NEVER to buy one

Re: Sorry in advance

We did consider it at one point but it would have cost more on the ferry for being over height
It took 10 hrs to get home at 55mph as it swayed like the ferry
The 2 men in the pic LR owner and friend who was convinced he was going to die thats why he was laughing nervously

Re: Sorry in advance

not surprised it swayed like a ferry, too much weight on the back axle of trailer. g need to be up front at least another 12". Not nice when the tail starts swinging on trailers. Have an ifor williams myself, tyres tend to explode if not kept up to 90psi as well. At £90 a piece it aint funny.

What are your hopes with it then, restore it?????. Take some piccys of the interior and post for us, would like to see what they were like.

Re: Sorry in advance

I know what you mean but the LR driver insisted on bringing the Jukebox and it was his motor...what could i say.
I drove most way home though.
It is an argentinian/falklands G with bits and pieces of land rover on it I am going to strip it and sell what i dont need as its LHD Chassis is good engine gone, diffs are all good and special ratio so i hear too but yet to find out.
