Re: non starting

More details, please. Starts every time and conks out, or started once and conked out? Starts easily and conks out, or starts with difficulty and conks out? If it starts every time does it need to sit between tries or will it start again straight away?

Re: non starting

Possibly fuel supply, maybe something to do with the fuel pump relay (this relay shuts off the fuel pump if the engine stops turning, if it's on the way out it may cut off once the starter stops spinning the engine). Try by-passing the relay so that the fuel pump runs continuously. A second possibility is the starter valve. This like a seventh injector that gives an extra squirt of fuel for only a few seconds when starting. I don't know if it's possible but if this stuck on it might cause the same cutting out. Try disconnecting the control wires from it, I think if you've started the engine a couple of times it should start without the starter valve. A third possibility is an air leak downstream from the throttle valve but this seems unlikely.

Thanks for that, fuel pump relay sounds like it might be an option, just odd that a week ago was fine then this. But i suppose electrical items do just pack up, they never wear out slowly.

I,ll get under the bonnet later when it stops rainig and investigate.
