Any ideas on how to stop the sliding rear window from rattling?

Re: Rattling rear sliding window

easiest way is to get mole grips & pinch the runners slightly together. this holds the glass better & takes the slack out.

Re: Rattling rear sliding window

without my sarcastic whit this time Tom. use the molegrips that nip square jawed and use maybe a piece of leather between the jaws so as to not damage the runners

Re: Rattling rear sliding window

feeling defeated, just attempted it, but instead of molegrips decided to use trigger clamps (big rubber pads seemed a damage free option) but i just cant pinch the buggers together nd closer, shall i just go for the molegrips and be extra careful?

Re: Rattling rear sliding window

Wind some insulation tape around the jaws and place a piece of plywood same thickness as window glass in the runner. Then squeeeeeze...
Good Luck!!!

Re: Rattling rear sliding window

Stupid as it may sound, but what on earth is a mole grip? Remember I'm from SA, things are still developing there, the only grip I know is a vise grip, and don’t trust those yet.

Yep, LEEU
Vise grip =mole wrench, mind you for years i thought water pump pliers were called "german nippers" as the pair my father had had for years had come with the german ( fahr ) combine, and he thus christened them.
