Per "SEVERE WEATHER WARNING" For this weekend in Wales.
PS
Wish US luck for next weekend at sunny Benone, where the liquid sunshine generally travels horizontally.
Ever the optimist,
Marcus

Re: Snorkels required ?

Difflocks? at Benone? -- Bah humbug -- Oi been driving up & down Benone strand from Magilligan point to Downhill in basic rear wheel drive cars then in due time front wheel drive motors with nary a difflock nor any need of one.
That said one would have stayed on the hard sand and crossed the stream where it was shallowest, the last time I was there there were some right interesting looking bits on the Downhill side of the stream -- and some semi "quicksand" up next the dunes at the Magilligan end -- but one would not be intending to off-road in the existing or developing sand dunes would one ?
P.S.
I AM serious about that last comment.
See you there,
Marcus

Re: Snorkels required ?

Well Marcus i've just got to say we had fantastic weather for the Wales trip, despite all the weather predictions (yours included!!). It was a great weekend, good company, excellent hotel - The Gales Wine bar and Hotel is to be recommended. The drive on sunday was through beautiful scenery although not as off-road as we would have liked - but we are promised Forestry Commision tracks next time. I will never forget the look on the french? guys face who was stuck in the soft mud with his saloon car when 15 G-Wagens came over the hill to his rescue!!! - brilliant
It was great to meet all of you that came on the trip - Sam, Steve, Mark etc etc.
Driving back on monday, well the weather was not so great and we had an audience arranged with the elusive Mr. Max McAurthur who failed to turn up!! Well what can i say that is polite enough for this forum - it was his loss.
Thanks to Dawny and Shauny who led our mini convoy (2 G's) all the way to wales and most of the way back! We lost them in Reading and amazingly ended up infront!!!
