I have just put a recon engine into my 83 300GD and the gearbox is now dripping oil. I'm told by Rakesh that it could be the seal between torque converter and gearbox. Can anybody direct me on the ins and outs doing the job correctly when I come to re-do it?

I had one go on my 280. I left the bell housing drain bung out when off off roading to drain any water ingrese but it picked up some nasty sandy sludge and nipped the seal. Its easy enough to repair, says my mechanics??.
