At the moment the sunroof does not stop in the closed position - Has anyone any ideas as to what the solution is?

where does it stop then, does the motor keep turning or does it stop when it hits the wind delfector prior to it closing.

Sunroof problem

If the sunroof was in the open position and the switch was activated to close it, the suroof would close and then go to the tilted up position. If trying to close it from the tilted up position the suroof would not stop in the closed position but carry on to slide open. Only by looking from the outside and timing it just right can I get the suroof in the closed position.

Is there an adjustment or is it the switch or a relay?

it sounds like a timerr relay, to close the roof from tilt up and to open fully would me pressing closed button once then again to open fully and vise versa. So you need to get an EPC to see whats invloved, I dont have that handy but there a many in here that does so hopefully some one can help better than I.

The motor is in the left hand side rear upper quater pane. Open rear door and take of the panel to the left of you. I think all the relay's and timers would be in that area.

Thanks for taking the time to guide me in the right direction. I will see if there is an easy fix or take it to my Mercedes specialist. By the way, they have recently done much work on my car including changing all the shocks, putting on a new steering tie rod and steering drag arm link and so far everything has been top class.

Re: Sunroof problem

I have similar problems with my 87 280 LWB. It has 2 sunroofs the rear one does not move at all and the front one opens and closes but not quite enough to to latch shut but it does not leak in the rain so I guess it is closed. Is it the same motor or are there two of them I do not have a wiring diagram so cannot even start with the simple bits like fuses etc. Any Thoughts Gary

Dear old Norn Ireland is fast catching up I fear, with regard to hourly charges, just paid £27.00 plus Gordon to my local guy working out of his own farmyard, I had to ask the rate as he does not declare it on the invoice, I swear he looked around before he told me.
