Import insurance
I am planning on importing a G from Germany. My current problem is getting it from Germany to the UK. My insurer, Norwich Union Direct, will insure it on the VIN plate, the problem is that the cover will only start from when it reaches the UK. I need to find some way of either getting it here or insuring it for its trip to the UK. Any ideas?
I understand that when you import from Germany the car would have temporary transit plates with insurance for a period of five days or so.
This would then cover you until you are in the uk.
Check with who you intend to buy the car from in Germany.

yes to the above if its from a trader he can organise this for you. Its a very simple process, and can be done on the day.
