2. which type and make of lubricant is best ?
3. If oil, then to what level should they be filled ?

1. I use multipurpose agrigultural grease. I think it is waterproof. This seems to accord with what it in the operating instructions which came with the G. A cartridge type grease gun is best. Do not use oil.

4 up to the access hole on the back of the swivel hub. Basically half full.

While you are at it you should grease the prop shafts underneath. There are three with three nipples on each. Front drive, reat drive, transfer box (the one which is hard to get to). Nipple on each in the middle and on each universal joint.
