Hi
Picked up my fathers 93 300GDS Auto (yes auto) last night, during my 180 run home (averaging 70-75mph) to North Essex I stopped for fuel, on returning to the truck I discovered a nice puddle of water under the right front wheel, on inspection their seems to have been a pressure release from the water reservoir. AA man said all was okay, drove the remining journey without a hiccup, oil pressure 3 and temperature hovering either side of 80.

Any takers, advice would be welcome.

Water loss?

The expansion tank is on the rhs of the engine bay where you described the water loss. The tank should only be filled to half to allow room for expansion without loss. Check your level, it sounds like it is overfilled.
80 c is a good temp to run, you obviously don't have any cooling problems

Water loss?

Thanks Roly

After discussing with the previous owner he had indeed overfilled the bottle, the level is now exactly where it should be.

Thanks again
