BioDiesel delivered to your door

They also produce a book on making the stuff at home and run courses too.
Am I missing some thing, at 0-92 p ltr it hardly seems worth the fuss and mess.
Well, you can't save the planet on the cheap.
Hi Mark
I don't know about saving the planet, But I do know that blending the hydrocarbon additives into rape oil to make a fuel brings it to around 0-28 p lt production cost . allowing for taxes packaging and carriage it should be around 0-45pl delivered, so the rest must be profit then. or is it ok to save the planet and make a fat profit.
Hear, hear Bill,
I was not familiar with the production costs but none the less thought it was too expensive, I will stick to my good personally imported ROI diesel at approx 90 CENTS a litre -- I get nearly as much pleasure in depriving Gordon Brown as I do in saving the Planet!
Marcus
To make it yourself in more than 5 lt the ensuing H&S and licensing issues would probably preclude you from doing it.
You would be surprised,
Anyone makeing any bio petrol yet?
Funny you should mention that, see I ve got this still, but the liquid smells so good that i thought I'd taste it.....
If you do make this stuff yourself - and I'm tempted - aren't there taxation issues? Presumably the best option would be to make occasional voluntary ( ) contributions to HM Customs & Excise and hope they leave you alone in the interim.
Thinks: may be it is cheaper and easier to just buy catering drums of cooking oil!....And put up with the smell.
Q
Hi Mike, where have you been hiding?
What you do is put together a formulation, which would be a blend of various hydrocarbons or spirits in a vegetable oil and present this formula and a sample to the Customs and excise, he then asses how much dutiable spirit you are using and then adds in fuel tax if you are not VAT registered and you are not going to sell it there will not be any vat added in but you won't be able to claim it back on your raw materials and packaging. they will from time to time check your product against your formula. If you are producing more than 5 lt you have to advise H&S who would inspect your production facility and advise on such things as bunded staorage etc you also need to advise your fire saftey officer who will carry out an inspection and advise on such things as flame proofing electrics in the production facility fire extinguishers and escape routes.
Containers need to be of an approved type and labeled accordingly.
How do I know all this, because I am in the business and all tho I now only blend screen wash which contains industrial alcohol all the above apply.
One last thing you may find the part of your home used for this facility reassesed for non domestic rates.
I don,t want to pee on any ones parade but beleave me it is not as easy as it seems.
Anyway regardless of Bill's scepticism I hope that some of you end up trying it, it sounds fairly good to me, I can't argue with the fact that's it's not cheap but then nor's a G
Coming from a man that drives a G500 with an average of 12MPG  Just thought you might like to know Diesel has gone up from £0.09 a gallon to £0.20 a gallon in Saudi Arabia.
So its left up to us to use the healthier diesel and pay a premium while the corparates rake in the hugh profits. Bollocks to that. I aint goner be here to worry about the planet. It aint the planet thats going to suffer its the human race. Its to late now. Money makes the world go round and what goes a round comes around. Money and profit will also stop it.
Blimey got on one there did'nt I.
P.S Can you all stop droppimng litter is bloody disgusting. :(
Dunno what to say to that, but I reckon you should be buying a Brabus V12 G then.
if i had the dough I would
You don't mind me gobbing on the pavement then?
well I guess if you got a cold you cant help it. Worked in Brixton this year, sitting outside having a coffe and along came a somalian lady, she dropped here knickers and pissed in the gutter, NICE.
radio 2 listener as well
Gulf are selling a diesel / bio diesel mix called "global diesel" it costs the same as regular diesel but the guy behind the counter reckons it gives more MPG's. I'm sceptical of this but filled up with it tonight anyway will be interesting to see what its like.
Thats probably the same as BPs Green diesel. 15% blend with kerosene.
I agree it's not entirely a bargain Bill but it's currently a small scale product offered by a (very worthwhile) not for profit organisation delivered to your door, I don't think Mr Esso will pop round yours to fill you up when you need it.
In big picture terms I think it's a very useful service especially if you run a not very fuel efficient diesel, whatever small steps we take are better than none at all.
