I tried to persuade wife & weans to go there this year, but no it had to be the Game Fair again, which is on the same dates, we are considering it for next year though, have you been before, would you recommend it?

Marcus,

Fancy a get together at the Game Fair?

When is it, by the way?

Few guys have been in touch from last meet, keen to meet up again. + few more additions.

New purchase going well?

Cheers

I think this might be better as another thread, people are going to get confused.

Att A. Horn: No the War & Peace event is at the Hop Farm?, Beltring , Kent ( or thereabouts ) from Wed 20th July to Sun 24th
ATT Martin et.al. the other event ( which dare not speak its name ) is at Belvoir Castle, Fri 22nd to Sun 24th July
Relax Bill, at least we do not have to debate whether its Alpha time, Zulu time, Greenich mean time or good old British Summer time.
Mabey we will all get organized to go to War & Peace next year, one of those Canadian "G"s would be nice --- have you got any useful contacts in Afganistan -- do the Canadians keep them counted?
Enough nonsense, for now anyway,
Marcus

I don't know where the 4x4x course is, I am more interested in the vintage and classic military vehicles that have taken part in the battles to keep this island free and allow its citizens to have the freedom of speech and choice that they enjoy.
This year for the first time there will be a BRIXMIS G there representing the Cold War era.
I dare say if you don't have an interest history then it would seem boring, I am so pleased to hear that we are after all the years of evolution are stillnot all the same.
I couldnt decipher from your text quite what you were trying to get across, Your wife didn't like it, You didn,t like it, you both didnt like it. ??
It's probable then that neither will be there, so I don't really understand the point of commenting.

There is a 4x4 course, but it may only be open to military vehicles.

4x4 Course

Well thats cleared up then and as G Wagens are by default a military vehicle, there shouldnt be a problem.

Very belated - but about the War and Peace Show

We have been for the last 3 or 4 years and have driven the 4x4 course (only available if you are camped on site-can give you more info if wanted for next year) Great course and recovery available if mud is just too deep!! All vehicles use it so you can follow a Sherman tank around if you wish. There has been more G's present each year we've been. This year we met some great guys from Holland who i know look at this site so Hello. :D .
Got to admit (being female) the other attractions of this show are beginning to wear abit thin but my boys love it and i expect i will still have to go every year until they leave home - that includes husband!!! BUT the 4x4 course keeps me interested every year(and theres loads of men in uniform so its not all bad).
All in all it is a great show, the sun somehow always shines 8) , the facilities are good and people come from all over the world often with amazing vehicles.
The other thing is the Hop Farm is there all the year round with its 4x4 course so why not arrange a Southern G.Wagen weekend :?: :?: Can you tell i am fresh back from the AGM and ready for another off road adventure :!:

Hi Helen,
Hope to see you @ W&P 2006 then, its on 19th to 23rd JULY with the Game Fair ( @ Broadlands ) the following weekend, so we intend to do both.
Anything you would you recommend for the three days in-between?, pref not too far off our route.

W&P Show

Hi Marcus,
Yep i'm pretty certain we will be there. Usually to be found in the America's Field amongst the Jeeps!! But it would be great if we could secure a vast section of the field for all 'military' G's ( ours is green but has never seen military action). Camping there is fun and sociable with the nite life in the beer tents going on to the early hours, not that i get to experience that with kids asleep under canvas.
As far as what to do between the W&P show and The Game Fair, no ideas at present but will see what i can come up with.
