All this stupidity and snobbery is what is making me giving up on this country after so many years and also what makes citizens of Britain desert their country for mine in droves.

Yeah I agree but getting a house built in spain still doesn't mean they cant come and rip up your garden up and put a road thorugh it for access to another 3 houses there building in your garden.

But your right its crazy to think the powershift system was set up to provided funds for a limited number of cars to be converted to LPG, Conversion companies have gone as quick as they came, its just a limited few decent companies that can convert your car to LPG. But having three on LPG in the past I still think its the better option.

It's certainly the cheapest option til the government hikes up the tax on LPG to match Petrol / Diesel . By the way i've been told that running SVO / WVO in this country is illegal because no fuel duty gets paid, does anyone know if that's true?

isn't household LPG liquid propane gas and vehicle LPG liquid petroleum gas? good to know they run on household lpg too though, even cheaper. Did you have to modify your injectors?

LPG or liquid petroleum gas is the fuel used for home heating as well as fuelling Peter Perfects G. A smashing idea and effectively un-detectable in use as there is no chemical marker llike the red diesel (marked fuel oil.)

I know of 2 people who run their 4.6HSE range rovers on this and have done so for many years. All they have is the appropriate tank (drain at bottom - so they harvest liquid, not gas at the top) and a home made length of piping with the appropriate nozzle.

there is no modification necessary to injectors or other elements of their LPG installation.

Anyhow - its' down to your own conscience.

This is somewhat off this strings' starting topic of Biodiesel however. Perhaps someone can start another on this subject - and leave this one to those who love to try the option of chip pan oil!! in our trusty diesels!

Cheers

I lived in a cottage that needed central heating and asked the gas supply company if they could fit a hand pump to the bulk tank so I could use it to fill my Mastercraft V8 ski boat as this was runnning on gas. Of course I did not have a boat but thats the only way I could get them to fit a hand pump. Gas around 97/98 was about 17p a ltr and so my 230GE was doing an equivalent to 60 mpg. As it was my every day transport it was very cost effective. Moved now so cant use it but gas went up to 28p a ltr by then for household use. Its naughty I know but they could never find out unless they watched you fill your car up from home.

Food for thought.
