i have the standard steel wheels and to be honest they seem a bit thin for the car, i noted that ebay has now and again alloy g wagon wheels for sale, and the question is will they look any better and indeed fatter than ones that i have. any thoughts.

Re: wheels

Steel wheels do look too small if you have a wheel arch kit fitted. If you haven't then 15" alloys might be too wide for your car, these are the most commonly available.

W460 15" alloys have a different ET [offset] number to those fitted to the later w463 cars meaning they will pertrude somewhat if fitted to later cars. 16" alloys were available in both series vehicles but are somewhat rarer and in the w460 they are narrower and could be fitted as an option to the non wheel arch cars. If you have a non wheel arched car I would be tempted to fit a tyre with a larger sidewall as this can look better visually rather than go to the trouble of fitting wheel arches [and suffer the rust issues they bring]
