What WAS he thinking?
There are so many muppets in the off road world
wot ya think ya doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always find that when being recovered especialy by a much larger vehicle, it is better to ignore normal recovery points and attach the rope to an entirely unsuitable area of the vehicle as clearly demonstrated in the video.
Although this is extremely foolish and dangerous it means that the rope is easier to attach and you don't have to get your feet muddy. If anyone should object and try to point out the error of your ways just tell them in a loud voice that you have been doing this for years and no one has got hurt yet. Then give them a good laugh by telling them about the time you nearly got your head taken off by a low flying shackle when you were doing a "kinetic" recovery on your mates motor.
It's not big and it's not clever.

You need to watch until 2 minutes to be fully educated.

As Tim, our chairman said, why do you need a winch on the front, it should be on the back, as the route in, should be your route out, I'd your stuck as its easier, all that clear drive in front of him to get a goon line up and he takes the hardest route

They could have dug it out easily. What a bunch of muppets. They deserved it!
