Watch out Behind!!!!
Hi All,
Something you might be able to point me in the right direction for....
463 with a 5.6l merc engine fitted to a auto box. When you put it into reverse and accelerate it will plant you into the middle of yesterday with the power of it......BUT .......... put it into D..drive and it wouldn't pull the socks off a dead man......... whats wrong and where do I start looking?
Already checked and replaced ATF and levels.
Where next.?
Its SWB 463 with its std auto box in a GEL model, maybe Mr. Baskill or Mr. Green might care to correct me on that as they may know some more.

The auto box is from the s class as is the engine on your wab11 car, sounds like the gearbox might need looking at.
Ouch! Commiserations...hope it gets sorted with the least of pain. That truck always looked tempting..glad to know it is still nearby.

And the next part of the saga.
Too her out for a spin down to the forest last Sunday to do the annual snakepit challenge with munster 4x4. Lasted about 3 sections and had to get a tow home. For a finish couldn't get it to go into forward or reverse motion. Tried high and low boxes to no avail.
Turns out that the gearbox has clutch packs fitted to enable it to go smoothly into and out of gear. These had packed up on mine so the whole gearbox had to come out and be fully reconditioned.
Awaiting a quote for the work to be done yet will keep the forum posted.
