Hello all I am after a couple of daft parts for my 461 ,

A bonnet locking catch as mines missing ,

A star for the bonnet it will hopefully stop people calling it a landrover ,,,

Has anyone got the part number for the cover that fits inside the spare wheel on the German wolf ?

Cheers

Here you go
Tyre cover/insert   4618980007
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-Benz-Reserveradschale-G250-GD-Wolf-BW-NEU-/300603385771?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item45fd5ba7ab
Note it is designed to mount to the studs on the carrier - if you bolt on the spare wheel you will have to use a couple of spare wheel bolts from behind like I do

I bought a star for a unimog, it's a bit bigger and you will have to paint it but much cheaper.

Don't worry 'bout the landrover brigade - you will never educate them nor the jeep folk either

Re: Wanted bits for my 461

The spring or bonnet catch is the same on W460, W461 and some models of W463; in particular the early models, like the 300G's but not the likes of the latter G320, G400 or G500.

Try James Lafferty at:

G-Wagen International Ltd.
Tel: 0118 972 1100.

Alternately, try him on his email:
sales@g-wagen.co.uk

I am sure he must have plenty second hand one's in stock.  You may ask him for a badge as well.

Generally, noticing the Wolf's in particular do not have any wheel cover on the military models, but other G-Wagen models use a basic vynall cover, painted green.

The moulded cover shown by dentsmithy; I suppose, does fit Wolf's, in order to "Civilian-ise" them; I feel these were intended for the W461's until some one had a bright idea to apply  it to the Wolfs'.

Cheers,

Ps, came across a nice restoration of a Wolf, the detailing is immaculate:
