Naff or not? Opinions? Can't find on ebay but perhaps not looking in the right places.  Can anyone recommend a source?

Re: Walnut dash trim for 460

used to be a factory option from 87 -90, was made of Wurzelnuss; not naff at all, there had been demand for high-spec 460s, the options list incl alloys with wide tyres, central locking, Recaro seats and metallic paint; this demand triggered the introduction of the 463; it could be regarded a bit out of place in a 461. Search on e-bay.de, include Wurzelnuss in your search, Mercedes can probably supply it at a regal price as well (as an entire set is difficult to get hold of).

Thanks for that.  Wurzelnuss does indeed seem to be the key although I can't see anything so far for the 460 but will keep looking and report back if I find anything.

Re: Walnut dash trim for 460

Hi. Not sure if this would be of any help but I've been looking for wood trim for my 460 and it's an absolute fortune! I've decided to risk the princely sum of around £25 including postage for a 30cm x 120cm roll of mahogany effect vinyl stick on "wrap" from Slovakia on eBay. It's stretchable with a hair dryer and can be lifted and reapplied. Just need a really fine/sharp craft knife to trim. Might take a couple of attempts to get it to look somewhere near but there are tutorials on YouTube.

Will possibly look pants but I'm prepared to give it a go!

Re: Walnut dash trim for 460

I have a cheap solution for you !

Go to B&Q or home base and buy some wood effect vinyl by the roll about £10-15

get some gloss varnish suitable for plastic, there is a brand called plastikote

i would make a template of the dash with some ally sheet and cover with the vinyl then give it a few coats of varnish and voila !

Superb results
