Interesting video. I came across twin wiper blades some twenty two years ago on an Austrian, SWB I had occasion to work on.

Latently, thinking of importing these.

Hi All,

FYI I have dropped them a note to see what discounts are available and numbers required. Looks good on the marketing, but my concerns are when your off roading and you get 'mud splash' will it scratch the Windscreen etc, will see what they come back with.

REPLY TO THREAD NO: 3

W460 and W463 front screen as usually 16" Blades, although on some latter W463 they have gone for 16" for the drivers' side and 15" for the passengers' side. Option is your's as long as you do not exceed 16".

For the rears' 15" is appropriate; I think you can get away with 16" blade as well.

To fit the scribblade on the rear would be excessive as the blade is primarily designed to remove bugs which is not the issue for the rear screen.

To aid the scrubblade action, my  suggestion would be to use a bug cleaner additive to the screen wash. I use a bug cleaner solution and claim it helps, the screen is not absolutely clean of bugs but it drastically  reduces their dead bodies on screen.

Re: Twin or parallel wiper blade

Just had a look on the US Amazon site and they're not all great reviews, longevity seems to be called into question:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dautomotive&field-keywords=Scrubblade+

And these Toyota FJ boys are divided:

After reading this thread I'm wondering if I should buy Toyota's stock blade! :D

There is a UK website selling these though they seem to be out of stock?

Re: Twin or parallel wiper blade

It may well be a minor consideration, but wouldn't twin blades double the operational load on the wiper system, which is already far from robust in the first place. Just a thought. frown

Re: Twin or parallel wiper blade

If a blade is dragging there is something wrong. Most likely the rubber profile is old and in need of changing any way. Or one has poor connections showing load over poor circuitry. These do need checking out.

The screen could have a dry film of dirt in which case this will need a through cleaning with spirits or good window cleaner with non abrasive powdered cleaners.

The same would apply to the twin blade and whether a single or double blade, these should not be used on a dry screen.

I have seen drivers use wiper blades in conditions when they should not and not use them when they should.
