I have been doing a bit of Green Laning with Armchair Laners, 130 mile trip on the first day! Anyway also went on their 3rd birthday tour which had a small write up in TOF, must be something of a record with 4 pictures of a G in one edition. My G was popular for the flat bonnet which became the picnic table. Check out the website there are some good lanes aound here if very tight for the G, hence the Fat G comments. You'll note few landies in the group as their roofs arn't structural they get wrecked on the banked and hedged lanes when they come in to contact. You can lean a G on it's rain gutter without too much damage! The G makes a change taking everything at tick over, the lockers mean there is no need to charge or rush at anything, which is how the damage is done and mine doesn't have arches which wouldn't survive 5 minutes in the Devon Lanes.

Might think about finaly having a Devon G meet in September...any interest?

  Happy Laning

Re: Total Off Road Magazine

Devon would be great place to go. However as most of the G owners have arches - Hey ho. I don't on my old truck and would love to say yes. However my wife has just bought a horse and I'm terrified costs will be subsidized via car savings... or sale... AAARRGGGH!?! Can a 300D be run on horse shit?

TOF - after the Yorkshire dales roadbook... anything interesting (anybody a copy)? (Haven't subscribed - needed for horse feed, D'oh!)

Hi Grendel,

Sound like fun - did you/can you get the pics and put them up in the gallery? Sounds like fun, and would always be up for a ramble down in Devon!

I can chose none damaging routes to do. I sometimes take my 463 out so it can be done!

I can't lift photos off Armchair laners site but you can see then without logging on. Also if you go onto you tube and search for Leesautos there are a lot of Devon and Cornwall lanes on there.

Re: Total Off Road Magazine

Would be interested in a Devon day out but must be a non damaging route to preserve the bank balance.

On the subject of G v Horse running costs apply the 5 x formula. Whatever is spent on the G the horse will allways cost 5 x as much!

EG    tyres v shoes

BF All Terrains should last 80000 miles say 8 years cost per year about £70

Shoes 8 visits from the farrier a year at £85 a pop = £680

Sorry use the 10 x formula!!!

Re: Total Off Road Magazine

A none damaging route is possible I do take my 463 out on occasions.

I'm thinking a round Dartmoor day trip taking in lots of lanes. I will probaly run it with Armchairlaners so we have a few guides if the numbers are high. I also think we have free camping on a fellow G mans land.

The cars were Trials specials. The red one is MG midget based, one of 400(?) built by MG. The other is a Dellow worth about £10K

You could get a stable of G's for that or a stable for a GeeGee I know what I'd sooner have!!
