Torque settings
I am looking for the torque settings for a 463 diesel flywheel, clutch and front wheel bearing please. Any help appreciated.
I am fitting my new engine this weekend, hopefully I wouldn’t be the slowest G on the forum any longer.
The flywheel bolts; I expect will be Torque and Stretch type bolts, which may mean you need a new set of bolts. I will have to get back to when I find out from other sources the torques you require. I have nothing on W463's but do have information on W460's.
The wheel bearings are adjusted with use of DTI gauge. The conventional wheel bearing setting works just as well. Tighten the bearing, until you feel no play or the wheel is harder to turn, slacken the nut a touch at a time until the flat washer inbetween the nut and bearing can slide with some resistance or has a magnetic feel to it and checking the wheel bearing has some play. Lock off with the lock nut and recheck the play. If the play increases or degreases with lock nut tightened, loosen the locknut and readjust allowing for the tightening and loosening. Always check the play after tightening the lock nut.
Check the bearing play after about a weeks use to ensure everything is fine.
I will try to get back to unless some else is able help.
Cheers,
good luck christo ! keep us updated.
you are scaring me with your high poewered G !!!
