Do i need any special tools in order to adjust the tappets on my G 280 engine type 110?

Hello Bill,

It would help to have the right tool, you can struggle with an ordinary tool and get stuck on at least two of the tappets.  The tool you want is: W110 589 01 01 00.  Circa £20 - £25.  Can be ordered from the dealer or Hazet Tools supplier.

we use a 3/8 drive "crowfoot" socket from the standard set

you should be able to set the valve clearances on a 110 with a 17mm combination spanner.  6 and 12 thou , set with engine hot . Remove the pre-load springs before you try to adjust though.
