Strange Info regarding. my G

I have recently checked my WIN at neorginal.ru and at Mercedes dealer in DK..

they both come up with the same result :

Mercedes GE 280 ... (Correct)

Engine 617.xxxx ....   ( Wrong)  !!! car has always been an M110 Petrol engine

Anybody has got an idea why this is registerd like this at mercedes ???

 Well spotted, the efficient 'Germans' have actually made a mistake!

I wonder if some one on the forum can confirm a similar error on the UK EPC site . 

When and if confirmed, perhaps Mercedes could be informed in Stuttgart if confirmation comes through in the UK, otherwise the Russian site needs to be informed.

Nice!!!!

UK EPC is identical

more importantly the factory VeDoc system says the same

If you backsearch with the engine number it comes back to the 280GE chassis number (i know you have not listed this)

It comes back to a WDB 460 232 17 047XXX

It would seem that all the drivetrain unit serial numbers are wrong on the data card, the gearbox type etc is for the 300GD also.

I would guess that your chassis has the drivetrain details of a 300GD and somewhere out there is a 300GD with a M110 drivetrain on the data card.

If you can get the actual M110.994 engine number off the motor than i could possiby...

a) find what chassis datacard your engine is attached to
b) get MBUK to alter the factory records so that they are both correct
