 Hello everyone, happy new year!

Ok, for the last 20 years i have never had a probem with my G starting etc. Could always rely on it starting even in the coldest of years!! But today i tried, tried again until it fired up and sounded a bit chockey. Thought it was the fuel so as tried to get some. As i pulled up at the junction it stopped. I quickly tried to fire it up again and luckly it did so i returned home ASAP.. Any suggestions on why its doing this?

Maybe the automatic choke or something is stick but to be honest i have no clue why!

Hope someone can help me,
Regards,
Ian

Re: Starting Problems

No choke, so can't be sticking.   Check all the air pipes are on and none have become disconnected.   Check for mouse damage on air pipes, wires and fuel lines.   Check the spark plugs and leads.   Check distributer cap and rotor arm if there is one.   In short, check everything!

Re: Starting Problems

Your description is very vague for an accurate remote diagnoses. Lack of model information and other information makes it difficult to be constructively helpful.

Given little info, if it is a W463 you have and, as suspected failure was a sudden; I would firstly look at the distributor cap and rotor arm, these do need replacing every 70-80,000 miles and can give suddenly. Other than that, please give more info on your information of your vehicle and we can take from there

Cheers,.
