Does anyone have the paint code for the seat base on a 460 , about to repaint them but would like to get it right.

Many thanks.

Re: Seat base......paint code?

From my notes;

Paint code to match 1988 bumpers, grill = RAL9011= Graphite Black (but see note below about MB 7167) Ask for this in Satin. You can get Satin or Matt in 2 pack by 75% or 50% added but it is not as sealed as gloss so rust will break out easier

“early 460 models the seat bases were painted in a very dark grey colour called "Tiefdunkelgrau" = low dark grey. The colour code is MB 7167. As from about 1986 there was also another grey colour a bit lighter than the first one, called "Anthrazitgrau" = anthracite grey; This colour code was MB 7731. These are not RAL colours. The dark grey colour was also used for some body parts.” Wout

"Tiefdunkelgrau" = low dark grey = MB 7167 = very close to RAL9011 and used on bumpers and grill on 1988. Black with hint of grey in colour. Use Satin in thin coats for right finish
"Anthrazitgrau" = anthracite grey = MB 7731 = dark grey close to RAL7031. Used on rear seat backs, front seat pedistals and lower part of dashboard on 1988 Use Satin in thin coats for right finish
The inner wings, battery clamp, front inner cross beams seem to be in another darker grey midway between these.

“Late 80's 460s should all have the darkish grey (but not the almost black one.) seat bases/backs and dashes. The earlier cars had the almost black grey for all the fittings, and the bottom part of the dash was body coloured .middle age 460s had the bottom of the dash in the same almost black grey.
I don’t know the paint codes but my local car paint boys can match them no worries.if you need paint go to your local car paint factors and they should be able to mix up the colour in an aerosol for you, including the correct satin finish .if you try and use twin pack you should go for 2-3 thinner mist coats or it will flow and go glossier” Mark Vulture
