Re: Rear door repair

 Hi..

Understand your feelings on Merc dealers..

But you might want to try Merc in Poole. They have a specialist classic parts sourcing bit in their parts department. I think Paul is the one to talk to. Always had good service out of them and at least you know what the most you will pay for a bit is

Just stick Merc Poole into google - I can't get the link to paste. Should be called Jacksons and have your VIN ready.

Ta

Simon

Re: Rear door repair

Hi 123.gtt
try a local sheetmetal /body repair man!! we run the cutting disc along the edge of the bevel in the lower door skin ( door and seal removed of course ) and grind off the edges leaving the the frame behind the skin intact ..cut a new piece of metal to pattern ....weld it in place.. dress the joins and paint ...you would never know that a repair had been done.....

Re: Rear door repair

I agree with all the sentiments above.
Guido is at ebay@offroadworld.de
He is very knowledgeable and his English is excellent.

For main dealer there is only one, Jacksons of Poole.
The man you need is Mervyn Wright.
He is not a G-Wagen expert, but could not be more helpful.

As Fixwin noted, rear door is a local fabrication shop job.

Eddie.
