Please Help a Child G Wagen owner in need
Think back to your child hood those happy days and think how you could help a child G Wagen owner who has been seriously traumatised.
Checking over the day car on Sunday I found some unwanted holes in the timing belt which have caused an impromptu rebuild (Lucky the weathers good as the garage is still a thorn in the side of the planning dept.) So I’m using the G every day . No great shakes in this, except my mechanical ineptitude when painting the drivers floor has meant that I have lost the c clip which attaches the throttle pedal to the floor.
To any one who has done this you cant drive with the clip missing as the pedal has a habit of moving about and meaning you can only get half throttle and in a 300GD half throttle means some brown trouser moments when trying to get through rush hour traffic.
SO has any one got the C clip which attaches the throttle pedal to the floor or can any one lend me a kings ransom to go to Merc for one ( Cue Rakesh and the part # PLEASE).
Hi Gib
Let me have your address and I will pop a clip in the post to you
Hello Gib,
I have looked up the part off a 300GD with Chassis number 460.333 as a reference. If that is not your chassis number, frankly, my efforts are a waste of time. You will see, there are three different lay out to the accelerator pedal, hence affect the clip you want. I am guessing the clip you want is from page one of the pedal assembly, Part 21 shown as a joint.
I know this vague but it is only as vague as the information you have provided, or not. Please, Please, if you want the correct part furnished, the chassis number at the least is required, even Mercedes Benz dealers' do not want to entertain any one without that basic number. The part will not be expressive, but may required to be ordered as I do not expect any dealer to be holding such stock.
Please furnish me with your chassis number, this is easily read from the vent box on the bulk head in the engine compartment. I can double check that for you. RE-Read your thread, now I think you are referening to the plastic 'C' - clip at the base of the acceleraytor pedal. See the attached links.
Part No's, reference to the picturces enclosed.
Reference:
page one, Part: 021, Part No: 1233010022, Des.: JOINT
page two, Part: 067, Part No: 912001012001, Des.: LOCK, Control shaft
page three, Part: 069, Part No: 912001012001, Des.: LOCK, Control shaft. On the illustration there is no Part 69, instead it is listed as Part 67; I expect this is in error.

Cheers,
A GOLD star to you, when you do stick the chassis number and not meaning sending your missus to work. Thanking you in advance. Doing that is every so useful.
Cheers,

Piccie of said belt .The car is slightly abused due to rather high milage but this was still a bit of a shock and lucky escape.
