From Peñaranda to Covarrubias
We did this trip last Sunday. Very picturesque and non-damaging, as befits someone who has rolled and drowned his G-Wagen in his last two outings...
We started the route in the beautiful medieval walled town of Peñaranda de Duero http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pe%C3%B1aranda_de_Duero that contains a castle, palace, walls, convent and a XVII century pharmacy (one of the oldest in the world) that continues its trade to this day.
From there we proceeded north, crossing the places were most of Sergio Leone's The Good, the bad and the ugly was shot. You will recognize many of the pictures in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjDBUL_zhqs

And we ended the route in Covarrubias, another wonderfully preserved medieval town, where Princess Kristina of Norway is buried:
