paint codes required
I have a 1987 swb 460 230ge in black and need the body paint code , I also most importantly now require the front and rear bullbar paint code , the parts have been sandblasted and are ready for painting so a quik response would be superb, many thanks
I am assuming that you do not have your vehicles data card, which would provide this information.
You can get or should be able for your local M/Benz dealer to provide you with this information.
They can, or used to be able to raise a copy of the data card from the chassis number. The paint code supplied can be mixed by your local area paint mixers. Who, may be able to match the paint from their paint swatches but you will need to supply a sample of paint colour from a detachable part sprayed with the colour, but you do mention that the vehicle is sandblasted.
OR give me your chassis number.
Cheers,
This relates to the 463, not sure of 460..
Hi
There should be a plate next to the Vin number plate on the air intake duct for the heater behind the rear of the cylinder head in the engine bay ...raised numbers of 4 digits starting with a 9....... or have the chassis/vin number posted here and someone will get you the paint code.... .bumpers were a smoky blue grey colour.... code 9167 and were never production colour coded to match the body livery on the 460 series
Hi
your pic shows a standard 460 wide end caps bumper with a modified number plate mount and drilled for bullbar brackets .....Note! all vehicle paints must be EU approved (water based) which means lots and lots of preparation is required to get a bonding surface to suit today's paint by removing most of the original G wagon solvent based paint..... acrylic two pack paints are still available .....talk to people like Halfords for guidance or any vehicle paint manufacturer in your area..
bumper paint code is 7167..
Standard early W460 non-metallic black is DB040.
W460 front and rear bumpers, grille parts are best sand-blasted and powder-coated matte or satin black (no codes needed).
Bumper end caps, headlight surrounds, rubber strips and wheel arch extensions usually come up very well with Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care (plus lots of elbow grease).
Here is a photo of that combination plus bespoke rear bumper and powder-coated wheels.
Eddie.
