Ok after having a new Windscreen and Seal fitted,re-fitting  my "new" ABS ECUand drying out all the carpets - I was about to announce with a big hooray that everything(mostly) with my G was now good and i could relax after solving all the major issues>  haha

Unfortunately it wont start today!  The only thing that has changed Since I last used it yesterday is that it's dryer after having a dehumidifier and a fan heater drying the driver footwell and carpets overnight.! Battery is fine, starter is fine, plenty fuel, it was dry overnight so cant be damp electrics etc.
It is trying to start coughs and splutters then fails.  Tried many times but no go. Seems like fuel issue?
It's now dark, so it will have to be a tomorrow job.

Can anybody point me in the right direction as what to do next to trace and remedy the fault please. :(

Re: Now it wont start :(

What have you bought? Do you call it Christine?

If all the basics check out i.e. Fuel, Spark, Battery etc.

I would start by checking the Fuel Pump Relay and the Over Load Protection Relay.

Both are under the N/S relay / fuse area of the dashboard.

The FPR is part number A002 545 20 05 or A003 545 11 05 or A003 545 24 05

You can bridge the pins out with the relay removed, i think it is pins 30 and 87 from memory, if it runs the relay is probably dead.

I understand this bridge provides direct feed all the time rather than the being switched etc.

The OVP is part number A201 540 38 45 or A201 540 37 45 and this also has a 10Amp fuse in the top to check first.

Other than that is the EZL unit and ECU but i am sure you have had enough of those already.

Check all the air hoses are in place under the air filter box.  If one of these has become displaced or split the results would be something like you're describing.

First and foremost check the distributor cap and rotor arm.

Re: Now it wont start - yes it will :)

Hooray everthing is Hunky Dory!

Thanks for the replies guys.
You were right Gav it was Engine ECU which I had managed to disconnect (so very slightly) when putting ABS ECU back in holder.
I remembered last night that I had felt the connector move when I pushed against it trying to tidy the ABS cable, and decided it was ok.

So easy fix today in in the daylight.

So a properly dry working G-Wagen today and what  a beautiful Sunny  warm day it was to.
It hasn't rained for 4 Days here, Amazing!
