Hi everybody,

i noticed that since i had my rear door replaced, the interior finishing trim is very noisy since the panels seem to rub against each other ; it was not like that before the dealer did the work. What would you do if the dealer is not successful repairing it ?

Thank you

Re: Noisy rear door

Hello sunshine.4012,

If the dealer has not done the work correctly, you simply make a complaint insisting the job is not satisfactory to Mercedes standards, and not to you expectations..  Ask them and keep complaining; taking the matter to the dealer principle if need be,  If you have to.

Make it clear to the dealer that you are prepared to make a complaint to the Mercedes - Benz UK of this shabby treatment and workmanship; do not only threaten to do so, do if it requires it to be done.

The door should be properly aligned in its place and fit flushly to the body work, the fittings should not be loose, if there are clips missing or broken, insist, that these are duly replaced.

The panels that are usually noisy after being interfered with after the factory fittings; is the wiper motor cover and, or the door interior panel trim.  In some cases, I have, had to adapt insulating material in between the wiper cover and door to insulate any noise out.  I have had to spray silicone spray in between the rubbing panels to mask generated noises out.  All this, should not be necessary if the door is flush and properly aligned and the door pin, latch and guides are all aligned and adjusted and adequately lubricated.

Cheers,
