 Hello Nik,

To be of practical help to you, would you please furnish your chassis number and details off the number, i.e. axle number, you have provided the ratios.

The eBay now and then shows axles around €900.00 or so plus delivery.  If you prefer some privacy, PM these details to me.

Cheers,

Blimey - is that what a second hand axle goes for!  I've got 2.
Not serious, but that's a lot for fixing wheel bearings and a crown wheel and pin?

Re: Newbie g owner in need of help

 Hi jdring,

€900.00 is for a secondhand axle NOT the crown wheel and pinion.  A new crown wheel is over £1300, drive shaft, some £900 and this does not include the bearings and labour!

Yes, these second hand parts can be seemingly expensive but for those who have stock, it only means £££££'s when the item is sold; till then it is scrap.

Re: Newbie g owner in need of help

Thanks for the replies so far but €900 is far too much for me so far I've got a place to rebuild axle for £200 and I priced up a new crown and pinion today at work for £588 + vat but the problem is I haven't got that kinda of money with the other faults I've gotta fix as well (handbrake cables, springs, bodywork, wheel bearings) it just blows my budget :-(
