New G Wagon owner!
Hi all,
I am a regular on the MB Club forum (love my W124's) and today put a deposit down on my very first G!
A G Wagon has long been on my wish list and whilst a new G55/G63 would be lovely I simply can't justify the spend! Hence I wanted something that little bit cheaper. I made the trip to see this one today and fell in love with it!
Any thoughts from you knowledgeable folk would be most appreciated.
Looks alovely truck to me ... enjoy
It's a decent looking truck, the sliding rear windows are a particular favourite of mine, try and knock a few quid off to replace the current grill with the original.
The reg plate is a good one for the G.
The wheels are not my thing but the rest of the G looks ok
its very tidy and not been abused. its been personalised to the sellers taste which may be debateable...
my opinion would be to fit 16" attiks or astroths. the rear sits a bit too high.maybe the front coils/shocks have not been replaced.
rear light are not original mercedes parts. get a spare wheel and cover back on the rear door.
the interior is very nice too.
[ but have you looked at the other recent posting here if the 2 G's being sold by an enthusiast on ebay ? ]

Looks very well kept. Some questions:
Will you want to take it off road?
How much is your budget?
Will you want to 'get back to orginal'?
As Huss has pointed out the rear wheel WILL need to go on the back :)
Rear Break lights would need to go back to the orignal (my personal opinion)
The leather is a bonus (esp if you have kids! - much easier to keep clean)
If you can get the VIN number and post up, I am sure someone here can take a look and see it orginal spec.
The reasons for my starting questions:
If you want it for off road, you may want to take a close look at the shocks), you may also when you test drive want to check the diff's will engage.
If its at the max end of your budget you may be surprised at the coast of the rear spare wheel and the bracket - so negotitate down.
Again you will need some spare cash if you want to bring it back to the original, though the changes made are neat and tidy and perfectly acceptable.
Good luck with your search and feel free to post up any other questions!

I also forgot to add, Hi and welcome! :)

welcome, i'm pretty sure thats the car from wheeler dealers, have a search on youtube and watch the full episode
Huss, the rear lights are from the 2011 model onwards so look fine, wheels look fine, and I love the front grill...so ld say put the spare on the back, I can see the spare wheel cover is in the back, but only suits 16" rims so if you don't have a 5th 18" rim get a 16" as a space saver and put wheel cover back.
That's the wheeler dealer G-wagon, recognised the plate.
It was on t.v not long ago.
pp, the rear lights are replicas mate. merc dotn sell these with led lights !
Thanks for the comments all!
