New G has problems in OZ.
I found this article on PistonHeads. A little bit embarrassing for the factory I would imagine.

Hi Huss,
I am pretty sure that Sachs and Bilstein are the OEM’s for the G-Wagen.
You might find some more interesting info and links on the Canning Stock Route trip – including links to the MB site reports – at the AGOA website.
It is interesting that the two Professionals – a wagon and a tray top – did not experience any problems in spite of similar overloading.
FWIW

The problems with the shocks were due to overloading and using 18" rims and low profile Tyres, the worker had 16" rims which allow cushioning with that tyre set up, on corrugations let the Tyres down 8-10 psi to aid in the damping effect.
expedition finally ended..
