Hi all, just a quick introduction, recently joined the club again after a few years break. I've had several G's over the years and curently have 3, did have 4 at once! Currently driving a 463 swb 300GD, bought an 88 lwb 300GD STT turbo recently, it'll be on the road just as soon as  I have chance to do a few jobs for the mot, and my project one, the one I intend to use and keep for years, an 89 lwb about to get an OM606 turbo from a W210 saloon, again when I get time! I'm looking forward to contributing to this forum, I hope advice can flow in both directions. Cheers for now, Mick.

 Hello and welcome back!

Wow nice collection of both past and present G's! No 500's though ;). Where are you based? and do you use your G's as work horses or like mine, the only off roading one does is when I park on the pavement.

Re: New to the forum, not new to G Wagens

Hi there, thanks for making me feel welcome. I never intended to own quite so many G's, it all started when I wanted to replace my ageing 460 lwb which was getting rough. I struggled to find a tidy example for a fair price, and when I did, 3 came along! I'll be thinning them out in due course, after all I can only drive 1 at a time. My G is a kind of third vehicle here, I have a sprinter van I drive every day, and my wife uses our old E class diesel, so the G is a spare to these two, and I use it pulling the trailer, and for getting about when we're shooting etc, so it does get muddy. They're all diesels, I don't do petrol, although if I did I guess a v8 it would have to be! Also I tend to do things on a budget so a proper 500 is way out of my league. I reckon to only do about 5k miles a year in one, our other vehicles do the mileage. Almost forgot, I'm at Stratford Upon Avon.
